Transpart

Exhibition introduction:

Don’t we all have a predefined idea of a certain term? In this case: transport. According to its definition, transport is associated to the movement of goods, people or objects. What if we shift it to a more poetic version? ... and made it the transport of ideas, knowledge, stories, cultures and (of course) arts.

This was, 4 digital drawings made for the exhibition Transpart in Brussels October 2021. There is a mean of transportation portrayed in each drawings . A luggage, a rocket, an excavator, and a barrow.

  1. La valise émotionnelle: An illustration of the emotional luggage that we carry all around, a girl made it fall. She is screaming, the crocodile of rage escaped, the numbers on the scale are resurfacing, the denouncing finger is condemning the bullied child…

  2. Inner Rocket: This is a representation the miraculous transportation of needed elements in our organism. Our microbiome is full of little “workers” and our brain of neuro-connections carrying the nutrients or the information they need to accomplish their set task.

  3. Excaviator Saviour: This was done following the floods in Belgium in July 2021 where improbable scenarios were found. The emergencies couldn't come to the rescue, so the new liberators were individuals owning inflatable boat and buoys. I imagined a scenario were the worshipped buddha is driving his engine to liberate us. This is all filmed, portraying our instagram generation… another one of those over- mediatised event, where it felt people would choose to photograph with their iPhone over helping…

  4. Frogs vs Roastbeefs: Living in london enabled me to notice the enormous cultural shock between France and England, and their animosity towards each other. Conform to their given nicknames, I decided to portray frog invasion (brought by a barrow) of the roast beef land. This is war.
